Today marks the 45th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. The Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, ruled on January 22, 1973 that the right to privacy (established by Griswold v. Connecticut in 1965) applies to a woman’s decision to have an abortion. Regardless of your stance on abortion, there is no denying that this case has made a significant impact on our society and politics today. Roe v. Wade represents perhaps one of the most controversial Supreme Court decisions ever made – and Humanities E-Book has over 50 titles relating to reproductive rights, Roe v. Wade, feminism, the Supreme Court, and how they have intersected with history time and again. See below for a small selection of titles or see a full list of results from our collection here.
